test the brown wire with an ohmmeter,make sure it has a good ground , if auto it will ground on the trans safety switch

Pushed,pulled and jiggled all wires that came out of relay and it started. I don't know which one it was.  :notsure:

Have you checked your Clutch Safety Switch?

Car was originally an auto and it doesn't have one.

Have you checked the safety connection at the trans?

the brown / second wire / not yellow /has to be grounded somewhere
th yellow wires should have power in the crank position

So if brown wire is not grounded the yellow will have no power?  The green wire is grounded under the bolt that holds the relay to fender.
Sorry for the delay I have been VT my son got a job as a forester.

You are ok the green wire is the ground

Thanks and what does the yellow wire do. I think it might be the problem.

Yellow feeds power from the ign switch which closes the relay & shunts power to the starter
