Linkage adjustment?? Follow the procedure in the service manual. You can find the manual in our Resouces section.

You said "now"  What happened or was changed since it started in Park also before ?
Your question has no details to give an educated answer.
Like, My car won't start now, what do you think is the problem ?

:iagree:
Linkage adjustment affecting nss operation.
Or...
If you were tinkering with the car recently...perhaps related to that

Agree with the others above about checking the shifter linkage all the way to the main control lever (gear selector lever) at the transmission. You may need to check the steering column lock linkage, too. Either set of linkages could be keeping you from fully engaging the PARK position on the selector lever.
Your Neutral Safety Switch is working in NEUTRAL so it should also work in PARK. Your linkage is not activating the switch when in PARK so the safety circuit does not allow the starter circuit to engage.
Check that linkage at the adjustable swivel (orange linkage in this diagram). The shifter should have a positive detent "feel" as the main control lever goes into each position from P-R-N-D-2-1. Adjust and then carefully test for START with the linkage in the PARK position.

If you are referring to Leo, that's not attitude, that's just Leo. He likes questions to be detailed and specific.

You might also have an old bushing that's worn just enough to prevent enough travel of the linkage to engage the NSS. I tried to show this in the picture of a really badly worn one I have kicking around.

Electrical diagnosis: The more information is one of the best avenues for checking where the electrical issue is. Been doing electrical work for 50+ years and chasing open electrical gremlins can be a bugger. Hope you find the problem soon and keep us updated as to what/where the problem is/was. Good luck.

Edit: seen you got it going again, that tends to indicate some worn bushing or similar.
