I know there have been some supercessions of the switches.
Are there versions that are not unuseable for a 70 E body?
I recall getting a switch 20 years ago at a dealer and I had to cut off 3 wires as they were for a later model, but otherwise it worked fine.
A friend has a 4221009.
Is the issue the length of the wires?

The main difference is the width of the pull switch...1970 is narrower, as is the slot in the column,  so you have to slightly modify a newer switch to fit. :alan2cents:

The 70 used a tier 4 way tab , it can be trimmed down to fit & work correctly though but does look 100% correct .
the extra 3 wires are included on most replacement switches for the side turning lights on some Chryslers , I just trim them off also .
the length of the wires is no problem
