Edelbrock carb with electric choke.  I need to run the + side of the choke to a switched 12v source.  I'm using a coil that takes a full 12v.(a ballast is not used)  The + side of the coil will be a full 12v switched so I'm thinking of just connecting it there.  That's the closest switch 12v source.  The only issue is that wire is not fused.  The only short protection on that wire is the fusible link.  Is that sufficient?  Or should it have an actual fuse?  I've got a couple generic inline glass fuse holders that I could splice into the line. I'll just have to figure out how to hide it.  If that's the best way then what size fuse should be in that line?

Thinking back to my 73 Challenger, the factory heated choke is powered by a dark blue wire in the harness.  This is most likely not fused and is only protected by the fusible link.

I have never put a fuse inline but you could , you can tap 12v at the coil , Voltage reg or the Alt field feed
