1970 440-6 Pack Choke Setting Help

I was looking at OE the choke thermostat for my 70  6 pack car and I noticed that you can set the range from Lean to Rich. I was wondering if there was a process to follow when setting up the choke so it operates correctly? I know I can do trial and error but I thought someone might know a good starting point.

I set them so it fully but just lightly closes the choke flap 100% , I doubt you will be driving this in the winter
