1971 383 4 spd casting information

Does anyone have photographs that would show the locations for casting numbers and dates on the rear Diff 383 four-speed 71 challenger?

Should be on the left side of the center housing along the pinion with casting # ending in 489

There are no other numbers on the rear axle housing, only on the center chunk as pictured above   If the car is still original, you might find a gear ratio tag under one of the mounting nuts.

Does the vin stamp on trans look odd? The 2 is nearly off the pad. Are they generally this sloppily done? How do you read the rest of the stamp?

Do you have the original engine ? Is the number on that just as sloppy ?
