Posted on FB - Need help guys . Bought a 69 sweptline with this 318 . Wasn't concerned , because I'm going with a rb engine . This is the 318 I pulled , it has been rebuilt , and I've had it running. The casting number is as shown in the picture , is 4104230-318-11 . Every Mopar sight I've been on lists it as a race engine . Can anyone tell me any specs on this ? Someone told me it is actually a 340 . Appreciate anything you can help with .

Pickup engines could only be 3/4 race.

The deal is that casting number was used on the X block, but it was also used on 80-84 vintage 318's.... If it has the big X it's a race block.... If it doesn't it's a late model 318...

BTW the X is behind/below the alternator....  And my bet is there's no X...

/\  That`s exactly what I thought.

I'm a little late to this party.  I am in search of such a block, 318-X: 4104230-318 casting.

Torred, do you still have this block, and if so are you willing to part with it?
Thanks!

:bravo:
It amazes me how some people on the board have such details in the memory banks.

It wasn`t mine I just saw the post and had never heard of a 318 race block so was just curious to know if it was true, always learning about these Mopars.
