4 speed reverse rod “side to side play”

Noticed the reverse rod on my 833 has some side to side play where it attaches to the shifter. My tti x pipe is pretty tight and I've noticed the reverse rod has been shaking and hitting the exhaust during driving. Is there a way to tighten up this rod so it doesn't move side to side? I can easily move it around and clank it against the exhaust pipe. Or do I need to look at my x pipe clearance and increase that?

A wave spring washer can tighten it up or a thin steel or nylon washer
