I currently have 2 flexplates to choice from.

Engine is a mild rebuilt forged crank 440 with Six Pack.
Rebuilt 727 with 2300-2500 converter.

Street cruiser so no desire for a high dollar SFI flexplate but if you had to choose between the 2 in the picture is one better than other?, which would you use orange or black?

Thanks.

Black is for the performance converters with larger bolts into the torque converter so which bolts does the converter use ?

Orange is the new black. :haha: had to.  But yeah what Chryco said.

I'm going to have to double check but I believe it uses the smaller bolts.
I bought the ARP bolts......

Yep the converter uses the smaller 5/16 bolts which is what I bought so the orange one it is.

The black one must be off a 10" street/strip converter I have.

Thanks.

there you go , if you used the black one it would tear out the bolt holes with the extra play  .

Thanks.

Does 25ft. pounds sound like the correct torque for the 5/16 converter bolts?
That's what was listed by ARP for the bolts.
.
I hope to get this piece of garage art dropped in tomorrow, I'm getting tired of tripping over it

I would have to look it up but that seems right, the big factor is Use red locktite so they stay tight !
good looking 6 pack!!
