I,m building a 410 small block magnum with LA front and went with edelbrock heads. I am almost done and trying to mount the alternator but the heads extend out approx. 3/4" from the front of the block and the tensioning bracket bolts to the front of the head. is there a simple solution to this or will I end up altering or building a custom bracket?

The 340 I built had A/C so non-A/C may move the alternator back more, I'm not sure but I found the 72 & Up square back alternator won't fit, the 70-71 round back alternator just barely squeezes in.. Not a great shot of the alternator but...

If you already have the alternator see if it fits. My 73 has edelbrock heads and my original alternator fits fine.
