6 pack fuel pump?

I just was reading in my 6 pack manual and it's talking about using an electric fuel pump in addition to the manual one. Has anyone done this? Is it necessary? Is it beneficial?

You can use both but the factory never did , I typically use a HV mechanical pump but I modify them too , the Holley & Carter ones will disassemble & you can enlarge the openings behind the threads , they neck down to 1/4" or less inside the housing in places . Quiet is nice too !!

Yes I do     take them apart first though !
