On my '74 Project, I've reconfigured the engine bay some and the original washer bottle and radiator coolant recovery tank are no longer going to fit together in their original space. Looking to some basic parts pictures at Year One, etc, I think the earlier model tanks may work for what I want and still retain a bit of the original Mopar vibe. If you would share some pictures of these systems in the earlier cars, I'd greatly appreciate it.

A couple of pieces of info around this, I do want a recovery coolant tank and not just an overflow. It needs to pull coolant in and out based on temp. Also, I've got a methanol injection system that I'm considering adding. This would most likely pull from the washer reservoir, so it needs to have some decent capacity.

I'm also not locked in to only E body parts in case someone has another model of car that these parts are reproduced, or even late model where they may be able to found in salvage yards.

Thanks

Ok, seems a bit of a task for me to post pics.  For my Cuda, I did convert a Manual windshield washer reservoir into a coolant recovery tank.  Items you need is the Manual tank, 5/16 overflow hose (3/8 is just a little big) and a clamp (hose to washer nipple).  Optional is an overflow hose in the event the reservoir is filled due to overheat condition.  I did post photos in an earlier post but don't remember how I did it.  I learned this trick from someone on Moparts and it works.  Coolant does go in and out of the reservoir.  You will need the hose to be long enough where it exits the radiator neck (mine exits to the left), down the side of the radiator, then along the bottom of the radiator support to the reservoir.  Of course you need the correct radiator cap that allows coolant to escape and return.  Optional is an overflow hose, where you drill the top corner of the reservoir, insert hose, and direct it down.  I did do this and after all driving trips, the coolant level has never filled the reservoir.  So I probably should have skipped this step.  Im in the Seattle area, so its not that extreme in temps around here.  Here is a link to someone asking the same question as the OP with pics from my Cuda.

Thanks. So that is the manual washer tank. I can see how that can make a nice overflow. Do you also have a windshield washer tank or have you eliminated it?

On my '74, the horn mounts in front of the radiator, so I don't have that in the same location as your picture and have additional room on the inner fender. Maybe I'll also look into some A and B units since I want to have both overflow and washer fluid.

Originally mounted mine in front of core support. Have moved since for other fitment issues.
Aftermarket piece lower left of pic.
Hose from radiator to it, piloted thru an existing core support hole.
Life is to be viewed thru the windshield. Not rear view mirror.
