71 cuda, 727 speedo cable lenght and "type"

so I am looking for a speedo cable for my 71 cuda, rallye dash, w 727 trans.
how can I tell if I need the screw in type or the clip type? also what is the length it should be?

You can look at the back of your speedometer and see the connection type.
As Dave stated above, if it is the correct speedometer then it should be the clip style.
I have attached a couple of pictures of the connection point on the back of the speedometer.
As you can see there is a groove that the clip hangs on to.

I just noticed my plastic hook is broken. Would the cable still stay in or is it garbage now?
