Best grease for Hurst shifter?

Rebuilding my shifter mechanism, what grease for re-assembly?

Imho, use very little of any type otherwise it will capture dirt/debris.

Just did this, wheel bearing grease was recommended. NOT white lithium.

What was the reason for bearing grease ? It will "run" with heat.

That was the recommendation from a shifter rebuilding service.

Silicone grease will stand up very well also
