Can Lifters be used again? Probably not!

Perhaps some of you may recall my instance where the Milodon Intermediate gear was wearing out and I was busting breaker plate pins off and throwing timing off.

Worried about I may need to replace my Cam in the future.

I have Johnson EDM lifters which are pretty pricey. Way more than ordinary lifters.

Can the faces be re polished so that they'll be good to use again if I decided to replace the Cam?

RUNCHARGER

I wouldn't. I sent a very low use set of lifters out to be refaced and used them again on the same camshaft in my 528. It cost me gaskets, cam, lifters, oh yeah and crank grind and new rod and main bearings. I know I've used tons of flat tappets over the years, I am done with them now though unless it is a low importance engine.

I'm sure you'll find someone that has done it and it turned out okay, but if it was me I don't think I would risk it.  Might try contacting EDM lifters and see what they say?   :notsure:

Well so far, I can wait.

I did a timing check today and the timing mark is staying very steady with no jumping.
So that means gear mesh is still in a constant load.

Oil change is coming up and I'll check magnetic drain plug.

I put 100 octane today in and Man did she roar.

Next, I think a jet size up would be in order.
