We are doing a conversion to 4 speed on our Challenger R/T.  We will be running a 383.  I have purchased an O/D transmission and a bell housing.  I know I will have to turn down the input bearing retainer to fit the bell housing, but what I am unsure of are 2 things.

1.  Will the bell housing that I bought work in my 70 Challenger?  It is a 2892626.  The charts I see say it is for 11" clutch A-833, 1969 B-body C-body with 383 or 440.

2.  Are all the input shafts for A833 transmissions the same length?  I am concerned that the transmission is made for a different car and will have the incorrect input shaft length.

The input shaft in my transmission is a 23 spline, 22 tooth.
For the record, I am unsure of a lot more than 2 things.  I am just choosing to focus on these 2 at this moment.  :)

Thanks.

the input shaft is the correct length
The belhousing is Cast iron & needs a 143 tooth flywheel Ebodies never used this belhousing but it will fit & work with teh right parts

Yes, have to match the flywheel to the bellhousing. As you know there is lots to address, next thing is if the pilot in the crankshaft was reamed at the factory for a pilot bushing.
