What is the proper part number oil pan for a '71 440 6 pack engine?
Is it a 402?

The "402" pan was for the 383 equipped cars in '70 and '71.  For '70 and '71, the 440-4, 440-6 and Hemi's in used the 2951564 pan which held six quarts as compared to the "402" pan which held five quarts of oil.

Does that have any number stamped on it?  Do you carry the proper pan?

The 70-71 440 and Hemi six quart pan does not have any numbers stamped into it as the 402 pan does.  The reproduction pan that is currently available is a nice piece and we have not had any complaints with them.  They are a heavy stamping like the originals.  Personally as nice as the reproductions are, I would never want to purchase a used pan of the same style.

I keep the pans in stock and will have a couple of them available at Carlisle as well.
