Getting ready to install the engine fan to the clutch on my 1970 Cuda with 340 engine.  Need to know the correct hardware used to mount the fan to the clutch.  I have a new fan and clutch that came from Tony's Parts, and it came with (4) 5/16 studs and nuts.  The Dave Wise hardware book doesn't show the stud, but does show the nut and a conical washer (.32 ID x .62 OD).  Should the fan be mounted using stud, nut, and washer, or just the stud and nut?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Gary- I just happen to have mine apart for a water pump replacement.  I've had this car since 1977, and am pretty confident this was the original setup...

I've seen it both ways...but the nut with the conical washer is most common... :alan2cents:

Thanks for the replies.  I'll start searching for (4) washers.

Anybody have (4) of these washers they would like to sell?  Washer size: .32 I.D. x .62 O.D. x .08 thick conical washer, phosphate finish.  I see AMK Products has them, but the minimum order is $30 plus shipping.
Thanks.
