Gas tank clearance 70 Cuda

Hello, I have a new Spectra CR8E stainless tank, I was trial fitting it in the car.
So far it is touching the rear valance. This just doesn't seem right.
How much clearance is there usually between the tank and the valance ? 1/4", 1/2 " ?
It's also a new valance piece, but the body parts all seem to fit together well.

Before tightening down the straps, you can push the tank forward slightly...you should have at least 3/4" to 1" gap in my opinion
