Not sure if you guys have seen this article:

Pretty good read and small block build.

I would love to build one just like it for my Cuda. Sounds like it would be a good street engine.

I wonder what the same specs would produce on a 360???

Informative article, thanks for the link. :stayinlane:

Cool article.  I was thinking it should have made a bit more power though.  If anyone is looking to build a stock 340 please consider the Mr. Six Pack (Bob Karakashian) cam.  I use his cams all the time and they make great power.  An all stock 340 TA build at 9.3 compression so I can run 100% pump gas (not like the 10.5 in the article) and it made 349.5 HP and 377 TQ.

Cudajason

That's cool.

How is the idle with his cams?

That's what's great about his cams.  They pass for stock.  A ton of guys run his cams in the F.A.S.T series that requires a stock cam.  They start and idle like brand new.

Shoot.   :sorry:  That videos was of one of my cars with Mr. Six Pack cam that my buddy posted on his page.  Must be his settings.   :foul: I'll try to find the video and repost it.

   This is just a test.... And it worked!!

Cuda Cody

:iagree:   :haha:   No need to wait any longer!!!  Here's the video.     Mr. Six Pack cam in a stock 340.  His cams start up and run better then any other cam I've EVER used.  And they make a ton of power.

I hear that they also don't have any problems making enough vacuum, which is great for those of us with power brakes, air conditioning, or cruise control.

Cuda Cody

Very good point.  I've found that his cams make in the 18 to 19 vacuum pretty easy.  That's PLENTY to run all the power brakes and stuff.  Anything over 12 "will" work, but over 14 is much better.  18 to 19 is fantastic!

Here is a video of a stroked 383 Chevy against a Mopar 383 with almost identical specs. They put the Mopar down until they saw the results on the dyno. :foul:
