1970 Challenger RT. I'd like to raise the rear of the car by 1". I'm either going to re-arch the leaf springs or add an extra leaf. I'm okay with either method although I'm leaning toward adding an extra leaf. What is everyone's experience with these two methods?

For the extra leaf method:

1. How long is the extra leaf?
2. Where does it go in the stack?

Thanks!

What has worked for me is an additional leaf. Back in the day when these cars were everywhere I would disassembe another spring pack, pull the 2 main leafs out and cut the eyes off them. Of course I would add them between the main leafs and the rest of the spring pack. I think leafs almost as long as the main leafs would work just fine.

I Agree, I have done the same many times adding 1 full leaf under the main , often I would add extra 1/2 leafs forward olny for better traction too .
You can also buy new leafs , I did this to my friend T/A clone , it raised the rear perfectly !
