I just got done replacing exhaust, and brake and fuel lines. The car seemed to only want to idle when the choke was on. Once the choke was cut, it would not idle at all. This was a preexisting condition, before the changes, that I figured I would look into, after the work was completed. I pulled the carbs and all looked well, except for some minor debris, in the bowls. I blew them out and bolted them back on, and it now idles! One thing I did notice, however, is that the idle decreases 100-200 rpm, when the power brakes are applied. Does this sound like I'm losing vacuum, at the booster, or is this normal? I never have noticed this, before.

Chryco Psycho

Easy to figure out , pull out the one way valve in the booster & see if it is holding vacuum after the car is shut off for a few minutes
