New Holley wont stay running / idle

Agreed: You have to run through the basic adjustments. I go so far as to always pull the fuel bowls off and check for foreign material and make sure gaskets are set correctly, parts are in place etc. Float settings are hugely important.

I've never had any luck with any carbs running good right out of the box.  It should just need some basic tuning.   :yes:

Still sounds like it is getting hot and either getting too much fuel, or not enough fuel.  That is the reason I suggested checking the fuel level in the bowls after it occurs...if it still in the right place you can proceed with tuning diagnosis.  Does not sound like a tuning problem at all, but?

The secondary's on my six pack setup where causing erratic idle issues. In my case, they weren't fully closed at idle and adjusting the secondary linkage fixed the issue.
