I just thought I would share the information on a new aluminum radiator I got today. Really nice for the price.  Supposedly takes the factory shroud.  So far so good.  I'll post some pictures when I'm done.  The price was $245.

Nice.. going to leave it natural color or rattle can it black?

edison1970

Probably black. Need to finish making mounts on passenger side.  26 inch in a non 26 hole.

:ohyeah: Nice, Not too far from that myself. I like the large tanks as well as the mounting bracket tie. No cross-flow for me.

Adapter plate can be a simple plate with 4 holes in it. 2 mount to factory location. The other 2 mount to radiator. No new holes necessary in core support.
And...
As I state over and over. Even with some of the fins behind core support. They will get some air flow. Adapter plate as I mentioned will create a chamber that air will enter. Even with the smaller opening, it will allow more air thru it than the radiator ever will.
Life is to be viewed thru the windshield. Not rear view mirror.

I just drilled holes and added a rubber spacer, no adapter bracket needed.

I finally got the radiator mounted. What kind of clearance do most of you have between the fan and the radiator? I have a viscous fan that I might use but it will bring it less than a half inch to the radiator. Stuck at the moment waiting for my new shroud.

Fastmark

What company did you get this from? Does it have the brackets to attach the shroud?

edison1970

A buddy of mine bought one for his Bee and was very happy with it so I ordered one. They sell them on Ebay. I'll have to find the listing number if you want it. And yes, the factory shroud is supposed to fit. His did but I haven't received my correct shroud yet but I'll let you know for sure soon.

Since I am in the market for a new radiator, I am following this thread with interest. So far I have determined manufacturer (and/or retailer while staying within e-bodies.org guidelines). So far, I am convinced to upgrade to a 26" core. The only thing I am hazy on is the adapter brackets. Can't find them after searching the web!  :notsure: This "Might" be something I might go with? again  :notsure: If not, then Katfish's route is a good one. :bigthumb:

The seller on Ebay is autocity1958. This is how the listing is put in:
1966-1972 Mopar B & E Body Aluminum 26" Radiator Road Runner Challenger Cuda

I have to say that it looks like a quality product.  Welds are nice and clean. The tubes are at least 1 inch each. I should have the shroud by Saturday so I can let you know how it fits. The one thing I noticed is it looks very similar to the Cold Case radiators.

I have to get some new hardware for the shroud but it fits nicely.  I might need to raise the radiator to give the fan a little more clearance.

Fastmark

Hmm. The problem is that the side brackets and fan shroud are different between 66-69B and 70-72 B and E. I need one for a customers 69 charger.

edison1970

It looks like it has a second set of mounting holes.  Maybe those are for your situation?

edison1970

I got a chance to take the car out to see how well the new radiator cools. What a difference.  Never went over 180. I did make the mounting holes a hair bigger to raise the radiator for fan clearance. The fan blade just barely scraped the underside of the top under hard acceleration.  The OER fan shroud seemed to be a little thick anyway so I also took my grinder to it to add a little extra room. Overall, I give this part a thumbs up.  For the cost, you can't beat it.
