I'm not an OE guy. Lets start there.
I'm considering a 69 air grabber 4bbl Oval air cleaner on my 440 challenger with rally hood.
Carb is an Edelbrock performer 750 on a dual plane Mopar aluminum intake.
Has anyone had experience with this? Will it clear the hood? Any problems with other obstructions like Coil, PCV, oil breather etc.?
What if I want to use a K&N e-3840 filter that is 3" tall?
This is an expensive $650 whim.

Also, do all mopar oval air cleaners use the same size filter? 4BBL, 6pk, hemi?

They are different heights between a 440 and a 383 application . 440 one will give you more clearance.

Best bet would to find someone near you that you could borrow one to test fit first?  Lots of variables though otherwise.

I've seen several 440 Challengers with that air cleaner. It works and it looks good.

With basically a stock intake the taller 383 Air cleaner assy will fit mine had it for years .

Just tried a 383 air cleaner with a half inch spacer under it but the hoses on  my sanden AC compressor are not going to clear.  I might still consider fabricating a flat base plate.

Could you rotate the compressor 90 degrees?

RUNCHARGER

We didn't know about the A/C. Guys mount it on the lower right of the engine (near the fuel pump) or chop the aircleaner.

looking over old posts today.
you were 100% correct. I had the compressor clocked wrong.
Had to turn it 90* to get the hoses to work.
Air cleaner looks great
