Hey Guys,

I have few questions about intake manifold.
I have an opportunity to buy a brand new Edelbrock Performer at a good price.

At the moment, i have an old Weiand 7511 single plane (X-celerator ??), i didn't find any real good comment about this intake so i am guessing if it may be interesting or not to change it.

My specs:
383 69' ( prévious owner told me "mild cam" but no reference )
4 speed
Holley 3310 750cfm Vacuum sec'
3.23 Rear end
MSD ignition

Street driven no race...

Thanks

Performer is dual plane, you'll get a better rpm range than with a single plane.

For a mild 383 I would suggest a RPM air gap and add the felpro 1214 kit with heat cross over block.  https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-1214/applications

The Edelbrok performer was anything but , the stock intake will kill it , so will the Weiand intake  .
The Performer RPM is far better .

I had that manifold on one of my cars and it ran nice. I did have the performer cam to match it. But I just cruised around and never raced. Stock manifold weighs a ton.

I agree: Stay with what you have or go with a Performer RPM or an old Edelbrock DP4B if you find one.

Best choice IMO is the Holley Street Dominator intake

I bought the Holley Dominator on Chryco's recommendation for my 440 and love it.  Car has great torque through the entire RPM range.  :burnout:
