Rear Main Seal tabs

Hopefully a simple question. When I was putting on the oil pan I noticed the rear main seal stuck out a little where the oil pan gasket goes. I saw a post elsewhere where a couple people say to overlay the gasket on top of it and others say to cut it. I don't like the idea of overlapping it. I don't see an issue with just cutting it off with a razor blade. Any thoughts?

Be fine either way.
Personally I cut them with a razor blade on my builds.
