Tried to start my car today after it sat still for three years. Pulled the distributor and primed the oil pump. I know the motor has to be turning over to get oil to the valve train. So the upper end may be a little dry. The motor is completely rebuilt, but is very slow to turn over with spark plugs in. changed to back up starter , same results. pulled plugs and not much better. 200 Amp charger on battery while trying to start.Older battery may not have the cranking amps needed,  .Bench tested starter both starters they kick out and spin but seen a little slow and a noisy, So my question is do i keep and have rebuilt a reduction style starter or buy a high torque mini starter. Any thoughts ?

The high torques are fine as long as they clear your exhaust.

you can grab a mini starter from the wreckers , any of the V6 or V8 magnums have them

Thank you for the info. I will check the scrap yards later in the week as the starter does seem weak. I did manage to get it started  Set the idle and mixture screws . Had to set the timing by ear, as my new timing light wont pick up the spark through the "Taylor Spiro pro silicone" wires. Its works on my truck so it isn't the timing light.  But at least its running again. I'm very happy.

Generally the timing is set better by ear anyway , weird that it will not pick up the signal though  :bigthumb:
