I'm trying to replace a leaky 70 style heater control valve with a 71 style. I can't figure out how it mounts to the fender.
The brack ets from a 70 to 71 are totally different.
Anyone have a picture of it installed?
Second question, the 4 hoses that connect the valve that I have are 5/8", but looks like one should be smaller diameter?
Do I need to change out the hoses?
Thanks

Can you post some pictures of the old & new valves & brackets for us?

First one is the 70 version, second is 71

I have the same aftermarket valve on my 73. Here is a video explaining some of the trouble I had with the mount.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saCVQrKk6zE  Go to 22:15 or so in the video and I talk about the valve.
What I did not mention is, where it is mounted in my car I had to bend the part with the mount holes WAY back for it to fit on my fender there. You can sort of see it in vid if you pause it just right.

Thanks for the link.
Might have to fab up a bracket.

I've got a duplicate of your new valve. I added a small angle bracket right behind the show tower that is equal in height to the  tower. Mounted the valve to these two spots so it sits level.
