Hello all!

Is there any reason besides cosmetics to keep the shaker flapper functional?  I can see it only being a restriction when those dual TB's are looking for air.  Or is it a good idea to keep it, ex rainy day, etc..?

Even the grilles in the bubble are restrictive , if you are bored take a die grinder & thin the crossbars down old SS trick

 So what do you think the computer will do when you get caught in a rainstorm and have no provisions to keep the water from pouring into the system ??  I know what the carbs acts like in that situation and it isn't pretty...

Having been in that situation with a mass air meter based EFI (on my '65 Mustang), it gets sloppy.  That's why I was wondering in my original post about rain.  I guess I can't have both, keep the flapper and rain out and lose some measurable performance, or hope for the best on a rainy day.  Eventually, this car will get caught in a rain storm.  Sooner or later.
