First allow me to thank everyone for their input on the shaker situation. Seems like that's all I've been doing lately.
However,I still have some questions believe it or not.

No. 1  The new shaker hood to unit seal looks small to me. I've seen original ones that look a lot higher around the pan. Are there any differences out there?

No2. Removing the old black sealant is posing a real challenge. The stuff on ther is like cement and Do I need to use a grinder on the stuff to get it off or can I just use the new epoxy over it?

No 3. I bought the hot/cold  shut off door for the unit didn't have one when I bought it. Went to screw the 2 connectors into the main intake vents and found one of them had a screw busted off in the cast vent. I m not sure what those vents are made of but should I use heat to try and get the screw out. It broken off flush and I tried chiseling the screw but no luck. Saw someone weld a washer and nut to remove screws from steel but not sure if that base metal of the vent will take it.

Any help will be appreciated and thanks again .

Post some pictures of the seal and the sealant you are removing.
The Shaker louvers are made of pot metal and are made of zinc mixed with aluminum. I would not weld on that broken screw as the pot metal may melt.
Try drilling with a small drill bit and using an EZ Out. You could also try a left-handed drill bit to spin it out.
Post a picture of the screw in the louver so we can see what exactly you have left of the screw in the threaded hole.

Is this the location of one of the screws you are attempting to remove?

The Shaker seal should have an installed profile like this EF8 Ivy Green Metallic Hemi Cuda.

Everyone has issues with mine. Not for the purists. I custom made mine to clear my tunnel ram and two 1050 Dominator carbs.
