I am building a 1992 360.  Pre-magnum roller cam.  I am discussing cams with Comp Cams and the question came up about long snout vs short snout cams.  Can anyone tell me what engines used one vs the other?  Based on the pic that the comp cam guy sent to me, it looks like mine is likely a long snout. The pic with one cam us mine.  The pic with 2 cams is the comparison that comp cams sent to me.

Don't think I've ever seen a short snout cam before. All the new ones I've installed have been long snout because I've changed the woodruff key to degree the cam and the keys have all fit them the same way.

Since the mopar small block cam doesn't push against the timing cover for thrust management like other brands, I don't see where it would matter if you had a short or long snout.

I suspect the long versus short snout refers to the non-magnum as long, as it has the eccentric for the fuel pump, while the short, does not. I spoke to the folks at Lunati, who are known as having Mopar-centric cam profiles and this was one of the subjects they interrogate, for proper fitment. If your block is a pre-magnum roller configuration, you might consider talking to them. Just my  :alan2cents:
