so after a complete rebuild of my 340 motor  and new rear shocks and new rear springs and new third member with 355 posi.  Do i need a new taller snubber?

dodj

Depends on use imo. For street, no. For track, yes.
A properly set up snubber for max traction will hit the floor repeatedly when driving on bumpy roads.  :alan2cents:

I had a customer insist I add one of those adjustable pinion snubbers to his Cuda....after a week of driving it, he asked me to take it out. :headbang:
Like dodj said, the car kept hitting the snubber on every bump in the road. :dunno:

Measure the space from the snubber to the floor at rest. Rather than a new adjustable snubber which are usually too tall you could build a spacer to go between the snubber bracket and rubber to get it closer to the floor.

Would not think there would be a bumpy road issue with a stock snubber.

With one of those adjustable drag snubbers absolutely.

My car did not have the snubber installed when I purchased it, it was in a box sans the rubber.

Could not locate a replacement rubber (Dr Diff is OOS) so I picked up an entire NOS setup off Ebay for $35, came in post last week.

Was going to toss it on this weekend but it's a million degrees and I'm not feeling too motivated to get under the car today.

Will report back after I put it in.
