Objective:  To flush all the transmission fluid from my 727 including the torque converter and lower radiator tank. Drop the pan and replace filter and pan gasket. Plus install new speedo pinion to match my 3.91 gear.

Procedure:  After watching several YouTube videos I'm all ears for the best methods you guys have used that gets the job done. Amount of fluid needed and brand/type of fluid to use. Appreciate it!

Bullitt-

I've done this twice, once on the Challenger & once on a Dakota. Disconnected the output line at the radiator & connected a hose to a bucket pouring fresh fluid in while motor running & transmission in N-neutral watching for fresh fluid to run into the bucket..  I've done several other fluid/filter changes not doing this as well.. A bigger mess than you might imagine, I'd suggest large plastic tarp and as large a catch pan as you can find... Be prepared to toss whatever your wearing

As for fluid for the 727 I bought 2-gallons https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/o-reilly-oil/o-reilly-conventional-transmission-fluid-dexron-iii-h-mercon-1-gallon/oro0/d1?q=dextron&pos=5
Many would say go with something more expensive  :dunno:

I did take the opportunity to change out the seals to the shifter, kickdown and tail shaft as well as install the shift kit our old buddy tactransman recommended   http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=33093.0 but not his other modifications

Another thing that comes to mind is sealing the pan, It gave me fits & I know I have read since then there are better seals available you might want to consider...
