I have two older b body transmissions is there any way to determine what they came out of?

6bblgt

they have no VIN pad - so, they are pre-'68 model year
they are not ball & trunnion - so, they are newer than '64 model year

are they both 23-spline? If so .....
1965 - 1967 B & C-bodies with 361 or 383

GG's "white book" lists the  "392" unit as 1967 model year 383

Do they both have the smaller 4.35 front brg retainer diameter if so they are both light duty

Bpret

Yes both have the same size bearing retainers about  4 1/4. They appear to be in good shape. Both stored indoor for the past 30 years or so. I was looking for a 23 spline 25 tooth input shaft for another transmission I have and ended up buying these just because I was there. So if anyone has a 23 spline 25 tooth input shaft laying around I'm a buyer.

After looking through some old stuff I found a shifter that bolts onto this pad. And there is a plate with a stamp bolted to cover is this a date? Trying to get an idea what this would fit. The shifter did not come with the transmission but bolted onto shift pad. The shifter looks like a 3spd but has the extra lever for a 4spd. Any idea what cars came with this style shifter.

9 2 66 would be accurate for an early '67 transmission

the shifter looks like an Inland shifter, which would be correct for '67, what does the rest of the lever look like?

I believe this is an A-body unit  :takealook:

The handle that is on it now is from a 3spd cuda but the shifter mechanism looks just like your picture. I will probably sell or trade this whole set up. I need an input shaft for a abody transmission 23 spline 25 teeth on gear. Or trade this trans for a abody transmission. Know anybody who has one?
