I just bought a set of Mopar performance valve covers. I need to knock out a hole for the pcv valve and breather. Anyone know the best way to do it with out tearing them up?

So there's a plug that can be knocked out in this location?   If so, I am very grateful to have seen this post.

I use a step bit I think they cut better and smoother.  Just my :alan2cents:

Yes, that knocks out. Then you file it smooth.

Yes, they knock out.  You should be able to see on the back side that the perimeter of that flat area is much thinner then the rest of the cover.  I still found the procedure to be nerve wracking.  If you have some stepped drill bits in the size you need, I think I'd go that route.

I agree with the above statements . . . yes, they are designed to "knock" out but it is extremely nerve racking to do so and the edges will still need to be filed (cleaned up).  IMO a stepper drill bit is the only way to go.  Clean and easy!
