Okay, I've searched the forum about the Pertronix install and couldn't seem to find clear instructions/steps regarding the correct way the wires should be connected based on what I have.

I have an original stock 383 with the stock coil.  I've installed the Ignitor (#1381A) but the only thing left to do is connect the red wire coming from the module.

Do I:

1) Connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal on the coil?
or
2) Connect the red wire to the ignition switch wire that goes to the ballast resistor?
or
3) Need to do the ballast resistor by-pass then connect the red wire to the coil.  I thought this was only necessary if using a different coil?

Once I figure out where the red wire goes, then I can check the timing and hopefully be good to go.

If I'm missing something please let me know.  Any advice is much appreciated.  Thanks.

If using the ballast connect to the 12v side of the ballast

The Ignitor 1381A instructions are attached. Looks like you can use the stock resistor and hook the red wire from the Ignitor unit to the ignition side of the ballast resistor and then connect the other end of the ballast resistor to the + side of the coil. See figure 3 in the attached instructions.

Thanks guys.  I connected the red wire to the ignition switched wire coming from the ballast resistor and it ran fine.
