so, my 69 water pump out of a 70 super bee is weeping.

should I replace this with a stock part from napa or oreilly's, should I purchase some sort of high performance water pump through a vendor like summit or should I rebuild the one I have?  Is it even rebuildable?

I assume this is a big block ?
They can be rebuilt if you want to wait , a Parts store or Rockauto replacement will be fine , it was working well before correct ?
You can spend more & get a high flow one if you desire ...

My mistake for not mentioning the motor.
It's a 78 400 out of a truck.  Low mileage motor.  Had the water pump from my last 383 and put it on the motor.  I like dated parts for some reason.
However this car is not dated to anything so I'd consider getting a better water pump.  Is it worth the extra coin to get a hi flow from a racing house?
Who's hi flow water pump would you suggest?

Also, are the standard parts stores stuff gonna be chinese parts?  I'm so sick of replacing chinese junk.

Mancini has an alum house brand for $35 , the cast iron is double the price at $70
Milodon has an alum for $50
MP is $90
RockAuto has them for $18-27 in cast iron

Everything else is $100 +

Why would the cast iron be more than the aluminum?
Do they last longer?
Pretty much everything that is aluminum is usually twice the price.

No Idea , maybe Mancini doesn't sell many of the iron ones

IMO, if you weren't experiencing any cooling issues with the stock pump, then there is no reason to "upgrade" to a more expensive one.  A stock replacement from Rockauto or your local parts store will be just fine.
