Anyone here have any experience with a Weiand tunnel ram on a 440? A buddy mine bought an engine that came with a dual carb intake, it's mine for nothing if I want it. I know I'll have to cut a hole in my hood.

My current setup is a 512 with a holley sd intake, 850 carb, lunati hyd roller cam, stealth heads. From what I've read, the weiand would take dual 650 carbs or something in that range? I've read increase in power, is that true? How is streetability? Currently my setup is very street friendly and looking to keep that.

They actually work surprisingly well use a differnt hood though

I have a repro r/t hood anyways so was thinking of running tall velocity stacks or a scoop sticking through the hood. Cutting the hole would open the gateway to a blower build in the future  :Stirring:

They run very well actually. I wouldn't run 650's, go to 750's.

Are 850's too big? The one I am running right now is a brand new rebuild

I'd be tempted to run twin 850's. I helped my friend with his 440 incher and twin 4779 Double Pumper 750's worked very well on it. We took that setup off and ran a Torker II with a single 750 and it was like the brakes were stuck on.

Very interesting and tempting. Any concerns regarding the rest of my setup and compatability? How will it drive on the highway at 70mph with 3:23 gears and a 4 speed?

had a friend back in the day running this setup with dual 750 DPs on his '69 Superbee 383 quarter mile car, was getting @ 12.2 in the quarter and would hit 11s with plumbed nitrous. these days I'd consider doing an EFI setup on top
