A lot of the cams I use in my builds are custom grind but I choose

That's a route that should be considered more often. I helped a friend build a 440 and I asked my machine shop friend to help me pick a good cam since he is into racing and has a lifetime of experience with engines. Gave him all the details of the car along with what the owner wanted from it. He searched through different grinds out there by a number of companies but in the end, he had one of the companies do a custom grind for us. I was really amazed at how nicely the engine performed. It was so responsive and torquey. He tried explaining all the cam science voodoo but that stuff is all Greek to me after a while. What I took from it was to have him pick my cam on future builds.
