What type of gas cap should be on a '72 'Cuda; vented or non-vented??  All I know is the car is not from California; it has a charcoal canister; there are 4 vent tubes on the upper rear of the tank that lead to a small vent "box", with one tube going from it to the canister.  Also the cap has to be "short" (or shallow) because the filler tube protrudes only about 3/8" or so from it's mounting collar.

Is there a Stant number?

Thanks!

:wrenching:

Non vented.  If the cap was vented, then it would make the charcoal canister pointless.  ALL of the tank vapors should go through the charcoal canister.  That's where the tank should be venting from...not the cap.

@Burdar ok thanks, so the one I have that says to caution open slowly is probably right.  Makes sense so thanks for keeping me out of the box  :bigthumb:
