Hey everyone,

I'm looking to add dual exhaust to my stock 318/auto and thought this might be a reasonable package.  Let me know if other ideas other than replacing the 318!

Oh, just for fun, I may put some 340 exhaust manifolds on the 318 and assume they would fit........ right?

:ohyeah: Can't hurt letting that 318 breathe a little better, What exhaust are you going with? Resonators & mufflers? You'll need factory style hangers and heat shield for stock style...

Back in 1980, I added headers, four barrel carb and intake, dual exhaust to my 318 powered 72 Challenger. It sounded so cool but the car isn't fast at all.

I have added to my Slant6 '70 Challenger down through the years. Starting with Mopar elect. ign. w/ orange box and Accel high output coil, factory Super Six setup w/ 2bbl Carter off 318, K&N open element air cleaner, Hooker headers 3 into 1, real 2.25 dual exhaust through glass pack mufflers w/ H pipe, 3 speed 904 to an 8 3/4 w/ 3.23 742 drop out. Sounds great at an idle and has picked up a few more horses. I like it.  Thanks,   Al

340 exhaust manifolds bolt right on a 318. I've been running the 68-70 style on my 318 since the early 80's.

I'd put duals on no problem, the 71 340 manifolds actually flow pretty much what the better looking but expensive 70 style do too. And if you ever want to throw in a 360 you'll have the exhaust already. I never expected much from a 318 but when I bought a new 92 pickup with the 318 magnum I became a believer, that thing pulled 16's in the quarter all stock in a heavy truck. No reason a 318 can't run well for a street cruiser.

For about the same $$ you could get a good system from TTI that you know will fit and they have great customer support.

Thinking I will need a 90 degree oil filter adapter in order to put the stock 1970 340 exhaust manifolds on my 318.  Correct?
