The "Night of Nights"


I served in the 82nd and met and spent a lot of time with the WW2 Vets in the 80's.
I can tell you for a fact even 40 years after the Parachute Assault into Normandy those guys still talked about it
like it was yesterday. It was a defining moment in their life.
Very few of them still left.

Definitely one of the most important days on the calendar.

I hope to make it to Normandy one of these years. I plan on retiring next year and northern France is on my bucket list.
Want to see Juno in particular but if time permits, seeing all of them would be cool.

And the Musee des Blindes. Would have to find something close by for my wife. I don't think I could get her to hang around the museum very long....

On each of my visits to Normandy, it is always a great emotion to discover these alignments of white crosses at the American cemetery in Coleville sur mer at Omaha Beach. An American territory for eternity.
