Any way to determine where my car was originally delivered?

I know this is a long shot, but I was wondering if there are any records of which dealerships our cars were originally delivered to?  I've got the original fender tag and build sheet but I don't believe that information was on either one.

I was lucky in the respect that I've owned mine for 50 years. I bought my 70 Challenger from the local Dodge dealership here in town as a trade-in. The original owner bought it from the same Dodge dealer as a new car that I bought it from. He traded it in on another car from the dealer I bought it from. I got a lot of info from the dealer when I bought it as a used car. So unless that happens Im not sure of finding out where your car was originally delivered to. I've kept some dealer memorabilia which I display at shows. Hope your lucky and find some original info on your car. The dealer license plate frames and ad insert came with car when I bought it.    Thanks,    Al

I was lucky enough to buy my car off a guy who lived in a small town. He owned the car for 43 years and bought it from the only Plymouth Dealer in Town. However, is that documented anywhere? no. all hearsay.

Without documents the chances of knowing is almost zero.
Someday I will have a J0b.

The short answer is no. You need some of the of the original documents (window sticker, warranty card, etc).

There are a couple of guys who are trying to correlate VONs to sales regions but I don't know how successful they have been with that??
Cheers!

Tis' better to have owned classic Mopars and lost than to have never owned at all (apologies to Alfred Lord Tennyson)

This is for anyone who may be looking for legacy Mopar dealerships and their dealership account numbers with addresses.

There are pictures of a number of dealerships as well.

it is slow going for sure - @usraptor do you have a broadcast sheet for your 'cuda?  what's your car's VON?  is your car Y14, Y16 or blank?

found your broadcast sheet INFO:
Y14 = "customer ordered car" = good start
089393 = VON - it is "ASSUMED" that similar "ordered car" VONs will be from dealerships in the same ZONE/REGION
it's a small sample, but I ONLY have info on 2 other Plymouth E-bodies with 0893xx VONs (no dealership INFO) - all 3 are Hamtramck 'cudas (none from LA) - all are 4bbls & none have A/C - spring/summer ordered - all 3 have dual painted mirrors & body-side mouldings

the majority of my data comes from cars in OH PA (Nat's Carlisle) & SoCal (Spring Fling) - so I'm thinking it is outside of these areas & no A/C = low humidity/heat   :dunno:

Thanks 6bblgt and MoparCarGuy.  A quick check of my VON doesn't list any dealers.  I don't have time to do a thorough review of the info you guys gave me this morning, but I do belief that I found the dealer I bought my original '70 'Cuda from on Figueroa in Los Angeles in Nov 1969.  :woohoo:  I bought my current '70 'Cuda from the brother of the original owner and it had been in storage since 1983 when I bought it.  Unfortunately, I didn't ask the brother where the car was originally purchased when I bought it and none of the original paperwork came with it.  I'm 99% sure it's an original Utah car and there wasn't a lot of Plymouth dealers in Utah in 1970.  So far the only one that I found was in Salt Lake City.  I did have a reproduction Window Sticker made listing that dealership that I display at car shows but it would be nice to know if it was the actual dealership the 'Cuda was originally purchased from.  When I get home today I'll do a more thorough search of the dealers listed on the FB link.  Thanks guys!

the VON is NOT related to the dealer number - other '70 Plymouth E-bodies with a 0893xx would be from the same REGION (there are 21 REGIONS in the US)

I currently show at least 43 vintage dealerships (down to 25 in the 1988 directory - all but 3 along the I15 corridor, from St. George to Logan) in Utah with 6 being in Salt Lake City

Thank you 6bblgt for the clarification.     Could you please let me know what the names of those 6 dealerships in SLC were/are?  Any in Cedar City, Utah?
