Apparently about 5 hours ago, or so. One of the last of the Great Generation fighter pilots and a space pioneer. A great quote of his was when asked what he'd done when he first saw a jet, he replied "I shot it down". He'll be able to catch up with Glennis now. RIP Chuck!  :andyangel:
In the immortal words of Jimmy Scott- "pace yourself!"

A true aviation pioneer, right there with the Wright brothers and Charles Lindbergh, IMO. Cheers, to a life well lived!

Allot of folks didnt know he was a flying Sgt during WWII.  A rare breed  ( I beleive he retired as a One Star General),    He was also shot down and had to EE across the Pyrennes mountians.   And of course his pioneer flight acheivements in the 40-60's
