Ebay question

This afternoon I bought an item on eBay and paid for it through Paypal. After that transaction, I found another item for sale by the same seller. I sent them a message asking if they would combine shipping.

They responded and said yes they would combine shipping but not to "check out" until they sent me the total.

So, I hit "buy it now" but didn't complete the sale through paypal. I assumed this is all I had to do. I sent them a message saying that I hit the buy it now but was waiting for final price before completing.

Just got a reply that eBay hasn't sent them any message that I bought the second item. What did I do wrong?

I think once you paid for the first item it was too late. I'm guessing you needed to "buy it now" for both items then wait/ask for a total.

Best to add it to your Cart if  possible then check out only once.

I agree but I only saw the second item afterwords. Maybe I just need to buy the second piece and hope for a refund on shipping.

That's how I would proceed, but you're putting your trust into the seller that he'll give you a refund.....The whole eBay thin is getting too difficult to buy things these days...

Ebay is turning into a total nightmare. I recently bought a part for my Challenger but five minutes after buying it I realized that the part was incorrect for my car. I immediately went to my purchase history and pressed the "cancel transaction" button. Three days later Ebay contacted me and said it was too late to cancel?? I bought this part on Oct/02 and as of this date it still has not been shipped out. What a joke! I have now contacted PayPal for help. Will see what happens?
