Hi,

I am planning on reinstalling the ECS system, on my '70 Cuda. My car seems to be missing the tab, on the passenger side wheel well, in the trunk, that the vapor tower clamps to. Does anyone have a close up pic, of one, or a source where I can get a new one?

Thanks

I don't know if new AMD wheel well has the bracket included or even makes it, here are a few pics I have of one.

Yes, I believe Mike Ross at BE & A parts had some of those retaining clips made. @HEMICUDA

Bob also may still have some of those clips left too.

I don't think anybody is making that bracket. :alan2cents:

Been talking with @floorit426 today on all this.

Bill said he swears when he got his car back then in 1975; it had the enclosed type tube ECS system.

Bill needs the piece that's spot welded onto the wheel well housing.

That piece requires the use a round clamp that secures the tube to the mounted bracket pictured.
...On the tube ready for re use.

I believe the clip (BE & A part) was used for 70' Cuda ECS systems that didn't have the enclosed tube?

Why were there 2 types?
CA. cars had the tube and Federal smog cars didn't.  Correct?

Hopefully this will clear up his situation and we can get cruising around again soon.

Does Bill's car have a fender tag or a broadcast sheet?   Does it show N95?  Yes? He needs the bracket.. No?  He does not need the bracket...

If he does in 70 it was only a California part... In 71 it was 50 states so find any 71 thats being parted & it should have had that part... Turners in Fresno probably still has a few donors...

Yes that's what I meant...just a 70' thing and then it was all the same after.
Bill has the tube ECS system waiting to determine on this thread.

I believe he said Yes his tag is N95.

Thanks

Hard to believe someone when thought the trouble to remove that little bracket...

floorit426

Well, that's the weird thing. I removed the whole ECS system, when I changed gas tanks, back in '76 or '77. I can't remember too many details, but I certainly didn't remove it on purpose, It may have popped off, during removal, as I wasn't very delicate, when I was 20 years old. The funny thing is that there are no marks whatsoever, on the wheelwell, where the spot welds wouldve been.

Thanks, for the tip on all of the 1971 cars having this. I'll check it out.
