While in my Cuda today driving down a main street, some kids pulled up beside me yelling "great car !", "love your car !", "how old is it?" and one said "do a burnout !" When light turned green, I revved it up and dumped the clutch. AND STALLED THE SOB !!!   :'(

you embarrassed us all!  :P

And just think of the story they'll tell their friends.
"We saw a cool car, but the old guy didn't know how to drive and stalled it when he tried to do a burnout"

In my youth, I was a mopar owner, a was another friend.  one buddy among our group wanted to show off their chevy camaro, and us two mopar guys sat in the back.  at the first light, the driver dumps the clutch and breaks a u-joint (rear, thankfully) and my buddy and I just look at each other and smile.  we were both thinking it, "this would never happen in a mopar."  but in all honesty, looking back, it's not true.  these things happen in many cars.  in the end, it's up to the driver to show their stuff.  i've had more failures than successes. but boy, oh boy, did I have some spectacular successes... and failures.

Ya, it happens to the best of us sometimes. I was at a show a couple weeks ago that had a burnout contest and a guy in a `90`s-`2000`s vette tried to do one but instead of tire smoke all he had coming out was clutch smoke!  :o

Since we're sharing our feelings...  I wouldn't be too hard on yourself, I have to admit that after waiting over 40yrs. and spending many $$$ to put my AAR into the pristine condition it is today, I can't bring myself to smoke the tires.  I do drive it and I do put my foot into it when I can, but after waiting 6 months for my vintage Goodyear polyglass tires to show up , it doesn't seem worth it to me anymore - I'm officially OLD now ! :-[

This tells us you need to practice more. Try to do it at every stoplight. Practice makes perfection. :))

Burn outs are dumb...  but when i was a teenager in Dads 60 Dart...it was easy to do...  simply slide foot off ot the break and floor it..it would lite up the rear passenger side tire (318 727)
