My wife and I have a favorite artist, who we have followed for many years up to his death. Recently I googled his life and background, his name Charles Wysocki, what interested me besides his art work was that he normally painted in a primitive art genre.  However as his art developed in the direction he was famous for. He was a commercial artist for Chrysler during the early 60's, which I did not know. I found some of his work and thought I'd share it  with my fellow forum members. Over the years my wife and I have purchased several pieces of his work from his gallery in Lake Arrowhead Ca. Before he passed at age 73 in 2002 we were able to have most of his work personally signed at his gallery. We have published books of his work  signed as well and plates depicting cats also signed. When he passed his gallery unfortunately closed. Hope you enjoy it.    Thanks,   Al

That's cool. I looked at those commercial ones when I was a kid. Artists work too and had to do whatever to put the hamburger on the table just like the rest of us.

The one with the antique barn I'm pretty sure we have that one in puzzle form. Wife enjoys puzzles.

I recognize the antique barn picture too and completed it in puzzle form years ago, along with several other pieces of Charles that were turned into puzzles. I remember seeking his artwork-puzzles out!

What a talented man! So glad you were able to get his work signed before it was too late. Thanks for sharing, Al.

In the same genre, we like Will Moses (grandson of Grandma Moses) and have a number of his lithographs in the house.  Met him as he lives not too far from where I grew up in upstate NY.  Will puts himself somewhere in the paintings.
