Front license plate bracket

Found this bracket in the trunk of my 73 challenger. I'm assuming it's the front license plate bracket.
It seems like a weird shape, so I'm not sure if is the shape it is supposed to be, or has been twisted out of shape a bit?

Did they change the front bracket in 73?  That doesn't look right to me.

It could easily be put back straight across the top, but I'm not sure how it's supposed to be.

That's correct for 1973, straight across the top though.
